Apple day
Apple day
Fall 2009
Apple day is a great way to fundraise, exchange with the community and well let them know we are in town. All by handing out a healthy snack.
Here is how it works..
We are not selling apples! The apple is our way of thanking all members of our community. We are giving away apples and accepting donations.
Use appropriate phases. Would you like an apple? Would you like to support Beavers/Cubs/Scouts? Would you like to help us with a donation?
Some points to share with your child.
Dress: Apple Day is an occasion when Scouting is in the public eye. FULL and COMPLETE uniforms are very important. Wear your uniform proudly. Be sure to dress for the weather. Have the uniform on the outside and visible as much as possible (i.e. wear sweatshirt or jacket under uniform shirt if possible).
Be prepared to answer questions about the programs. What are you raising money for? What do you do in Scouts? Where do you go camping? What do you like about Scouting? What are your badges and how did you get them? Other youth and parents will see you and may decide to join so please make sure you represent scouting well.
No munching on the job! There should be no eating when manning the station. (But the apples look soooo good!)
Be on time for your shift.
Manners. Apple Day is an occasion when Scouting is in the public eye. Behave well while in uniform. Thank people who donate. Be polite to people who don?t donate.
Smiles and a big ?Thank you ? to everyone will make our efforts worthwhile.
